Forging
Forging is a processing method that uses forging machinery to exert pressure on metal blanks to produce plastic deformation to obtain forgings with certain mechanical properties, certain shapes and sizes.
>>Classification:
1.Free forging. A forging process that uses simple universal tools or directly applies external forces to the blank between the upper and lower anvil iron of the forging equipment to deform the blank and obtain the desired geometry and internal quality.Forgings produced by free forging method are called free forging.Free forging is mainly based on the production of small batch forgings, and the forging equipment such as forging hammer and hydraulic press is used to form the blank to obtain qualified forgings.
2. Die forging. Die forging is divided into open die forging and closed die forging. The metal blank is deformed by pressure in the forging die chamber with a certain shape. Die forging is generally used to produce parts with small weight and large batch.
>>Characteristics:
1. High mechanical properties of parts. Compared with castings, metal can improve its structure and mechanical properties after forging. Due to the deformation and recrystallization of the metal, the original coarse dendrites and columnar grains become fine-grained and uniform equiaxed recrystallization structures, which make the original segregation, porosity, porosity and slag inclusion in the ingot become more compact and welded, and improve the plastic and mechanical properties of the metal.
2. The molding is slightly simple, or requires multiple processes to create complex modeling, and the processing amount is large
