What is Low Pressure Casting Process?
>>Low Pressure Casting Process
1.Preparation stage: Place the mold above the sealed crucible to ensure that the crucible is well sealed.
2. Compressed air: dry compressed air or inert gas is pumped into the sealed crucible. These gases form a certain pressure in the crucible.
3. Metal liquid filling: Under the action of gas pressure, the metal liquid enters the cavity smoothly through the runner along the liquid lifting pipe from bottom to top to complete the filling process.
4.Holding pressure: The gas pressure on the liquid surface in the crucible is maintained throughout the casting solidification period to ensure the integrity and quality of the casting.
5.Pressure Relief and Casting Removal: When the casting is completely solidified, the gas pressure on the liquid surface is relieved, so that the unsolidified metal liquid in the riser pipe and runner flows back to the crucible. The whole casting process is then completed by opening the cylinder and pushing out the casting.
>>Characteristics of low pressure casting process
1. The advantages of low-pressure casting process include no pollution, easy automation, high metal recovery rate (up to 95%), etc., suitable for casting non-ferrous alloys, especially for aluminum, magnesium alloy and other materials.
2. Good feeding, dense casting structure, easy to cast large thin-walled complex castings, no need to risers, metal recovery rate of 95%. No pollution, easy to automate.
3. Can also be T6 heat treatment, good performance.
4. High equipment cost, low efficiency and high product price.
>>Applications:
Automobile wheel hub, engine cavity, magnesium alloy and other high demand parts.
